I was happy to take part in the 2020 WalkBikePlace conference of August 6 to 9. This conference, originally planned to happen in Indianapolis and hosted digitally this year, is all about the pedestrian, the cyclists and public spaces. In car-centric America extra attention in design of streets and places for those target groups is not exactly a luxury. I'm glad to say that my presentation, 'From Amsterdam with Bicycle Love' was very well attended. It showed bicycle infrastructure design innovations from the Netherlands and specifically Amsterdam. Through presentations like these, and through my international design practices, I continu to strive bringing humanized public spaces and safe infrastructure for active transportation to North America.
